Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 28, 2026
Last updated: August 28, 2026

Mealfine (“Mealfine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website mealfine.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.

1. Who We Are

Mealfine is an independent online publication covering nutrition, healthy eating, diets, recipes, and sports nutrition. We are the data controller for information collected through this Site.

You can reach us at any time at contact@mealfine.com.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Give Us Directly

  • Contact form submissions. When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide.
  • Email newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter or sign up for a program, challenge, or downloadable resource, we collect your email address and any other details you choose to share, such as your first name.
  • Comments. If commenting is enabled and you leave a comment, we collect your name, email address, comment content, and IP address.
  • Correspondence. If you email us directly, we retain that correspondence.

We do not ask for and do not want sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, financial account details, or medical records. Please do not send us health information about yourself or anyone else.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically:

  • IP address and general location derived from it (typically city or region level)
  • Browser type and version, operating system, and device type
  • Pages viewed, time spent on pages, and referring website
  • Date and time of your visit
  • Screen resolution and language settings

This information is collected through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies.

2.3 Information From Third Parties

We may receive aggregated or de-identified analytics data from the service providers described in Section 5. We do not purchase personal information from data brokers.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use the following categories:

Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the Site to function — for example, remembering your cookie preferences, maintaining security, and preventing automated abuse of our forms. These cannot be switched off.

Analytics cookies. Help us understand how visitors find and use the Site so we can improve our content. See Section 5 for the providers involved.

Advertising cookies. If and when we display advertising, our advertising partners may set cookies to measure ad performance and, in some cases, to show ads relevant to your interests.

Functional cookies. Remember preferences such as whether you have already dismissed a newsletter prompt.

Managing Cookies

When you first visit the Site, you will see a cookie notice allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link on the Site.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may cause parts of the Site to stop working correctly.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information where applicable law recognizes it.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
  • Respond to your questions, feedback, and requests
  • Send you our newsletter and related content, if you have subscribed
  • Deliver any program, challenge, guide, or resource you have signed up for
  • Understand which content is useful so we can create more of it
  • Detect, prevent, and address spam, fraud, security incidents, and technical problems
  • Measure and improve the performance of advertising and affiliate placements
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the Site. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.

Web hosting. Our Site is hosted by Hostinger, which processes server logs including IP addresses in order to deliver the Site and maintain security.

Analytics. We use or may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data including IP address, pages viewed, and approximate location. You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Search Console. We use or may use Google Search Console, which provides aggregated data about how the Site appears in search results. It does not identify individual visitors.

Spam protection. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our forms from automated abuse. Turnstile processes technical signals from your browser to distinguish humans from bots. It does not use this data for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Email delivery and marketing. We use or may use an email service provider to store subscriber addresses and deliver newsletters. Your email address is stored on their servers and processed on our behalf.

Advertising networks. We may work with advertising networks that serve ads on the Site. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to measure performance and personalize advertising. Where required, personalized advertising will only be enabled after you consent through our cookie notice.

Affiliate networks. See Section 6.

We may also disclose information where required by law, in response to valid legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

6. Affiliate Links and Advertising Disclosure

Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

When you click an affiliate link, the merchant or affiliate network may set a cookie recording that you arrived from our Site, so any resulting purchase can be attributed to us. This tracking is controlled by the merchant, not by us, and is governed by their privacy policy.

We participate or may participate in affiliate programs including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Affiliate relationships never determine our editorial recommendations. We recommend products because we believe they are worth considering, not because of commission rates.

7. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

However, certain privacy laws — particularly in California — define “sale” and “sharing” broadly enough to include the use of advertising and analytics cookies that transmit identifiers to third parties. To the extent our use of advertising cookies is treated as a “sale” or “share” under those definitions, you have the right to opt out. You can do so by declining non-essential cookies in our cookie notice, by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser, or by emailing us at contact@mealfine.com.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected:

  • Contact form messages and email correspondence: up to 3 years, so we can reference prior conversations
  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we do not accidentally email you again
  • Comments: retained indefinitely while published, unless you ask us to remove them
  • Analytics data: according to the retention period configured with the analytics provider, typically 14 months
  • Server logs: typically retained by our host for a limited period for security and troubleshooting

9. Security

We use HTTPS encryption across the Site, keep our software updated, apply firewall and malware protection, and maintain regular backups.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Privacy Rights

10.1 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share
  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information — note that we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your rights

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@mealfine.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your request by asking you to confirm information we already hold, such as the email address associated with your subscription. We respond within 45 days, with one 45-day extension where permitted.

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, provided they supply written proof of authorization.

10.2 Other U.S. State Privacy Laws

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted advertising. Use the same contact address above. Where state law provides an appeal process for denied requests, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will respond to the appeal within the timeframe your state requires.

10.3 Visitors From the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

Our Site is directed to a United States audience, but we recognize that visitors from other regions may access it.

If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases for processing are:

  • Consent — for non-essential cookies and newsletter subscriptions
  • Legitimate interests — for site security, spam prevention, and understanding aggregate usage
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain information to comply with law

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

International transfers. Our servers are located in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@mealfine.com and we will delete it promptly.

We also do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 for the purpose of selling or sharing it as those terms are defined under California law.

12. Third-Party Links

The Site contains links to other websites, including merchants, research sources, and reference material. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced more prominently on the Site.

We encourage you to review this page periodically.
